The Australian Trainers’ Association (ATA) is pleased to announce its race events and activities in Tasmania during the months of April and May:
Trainers’ Trust Handicaps
Mowbray racecourse in Launceston will play host to the SKY / ATA Trainers’ Trust Handicap on Sunday 8 April. It will be the turn of Elwick racecourse to host an identical race on Sunday 27 May.
These races promote the Australian Trainers’ Trust - the only national Trust of its kind - which offers financial support for Trainers and their families where they experience extreme need as a result of illness, injury or death of the trainer.
Australian Trainers’ Association Handicaps
Our Members will be well catered for in both the north and south of the state as well. Mowbray and Elwick will each host our very own named race - the Australian Trainers’ Association Handicap.
These races will not only promote the ATA’s Stakeholder role within the racing industry, it will also provide Members with an opportunity to earn bonuses which attach to the race.
The total bonus pool is $3,500 in payments, payable to eligible ATA Members whose horses fill the first, second or third placings, as follows:
$2,000 for 1st
$1,000 for 2nd
$500 for 3rd
These races will be run on Sunday 29 April at Elwick and Sunday 13 May at Mowbray. We urge all Members to keep a look out for these races and enter a runner where possible.
The ATA will also host a casual on-course function at each meeting, and we extend an invitation to Trainers and their guests to drop in, say hello and enjoy some light refreshments across the day. An invitation will be forwarded to you closer to the event and if you are planning to be at the track, we would be delighted to see you throughout the day.
