2011 Festival of Perth Racing - SYD-MELB-PERTH Charter Flight / 23 Aug, 2011
The annual Perth Racing charter flight for the Festival of Perth Racing will depart Sydney and Melbourne on Tuesday November 8.
Chris Calthorpe from Air Horse Transport has successfully negotiated with Malaysian Airlines to commence the trip to Perth in Sydney with the flight due to leave Sydney late morning on Tuesday November 8.
Sydney owners and trainers will have the opportunity to fly their horses direct out of Sydney via Melbourne to Perth for the Festival.
The flight is due to leave Melbourne at around 2.00pm and is expected into Perth after 6.00pm.
The stable to stable travel time for Sydney trainers is expected to be approximately nine hours.
Not only does this charter flight give Eastern States owners and trainers surety of travel for their horses but they will arrive 11 days before “Super Saturday” which features the $1 million Group 1 Railway Stakes (1600 metres), $500,000 Group 1 Winterbottom Stakes (1200 metres) and the $350,000 Group 2 WA Guineas (1600 metres).
Another option by taking the charter flight are the $175,000 Group 3 Champion Fillies Stakes (1600 metres) and the $125,000 Group 3 RJ Peters Stakes (1500 metres) at Ascot on Saturday November 12.
