The Australian Trainers Association has appointed Cameron Partington as the new coordinator for Queensland. The role will assist the current board in communication as well as further develop and enhance the value to its Queensland Members.
Queensland President Pat Duff has initiated the appointment and is extremely pleased it has finally come to fruition. “I have known Cameron for over 20 years, and being able to obtain his services for our members is going to be of major benefit. His business background combined with his experience in our industry from both sides of the fence, offers us great opportunities”.
As well as being both an owner and working as Foreman/Racing Manager, Cameron has strong family links to racing. One of his Uncles being the well performed Qld jockey Sid Curran, and another being Linsley Thorpe who was Chairman of the Toowoomba Turf Club for many years.
Motor-racing is Cameron’s other interest, where he raced with the current stars of Australian Motorsport like Mark Webber, Craig Lowndes and Marcos Ambrose during the 1990’s. You may have heard Cameron’s regular Motorsport segment on the TattsBet Sports Breakfast Show on Radio TAB.
Cameron commenced the role in July and is enthusiastic about the appointment. “In accepting the position I am looking forward to supporting the ATA in offering the Qld Members an increased level of communication and assistance, along with some exciting new initiatives in the future”.
