Dear Trainer,
Saturday 17 September will see Morphettville host the running of the “SKY / ATA TRAINERS’ TRUST HANDICAP”. This event will earmark the official public launch of the Australian Trainers’ Trust in South Australia.
The Australian Trainers’ Association (ATA) has worked tirelessly over the past two years to establish the Trust, which is designed to financially assist Trainers who suffer serious illness, injury and/or death, and as a result, find themselves placed in an acute financial position.
The ATA is delighted to acknowledge the support of the South Australian Jockey Club (SAJC), who have provided a named race to promote the official launch. We are also delighted to announce Thoroughbred Racing SA (TRSA) has agreed to make a financial contribution to the Trust. This recognises the value this medium provides to the training fraternity, and secondly, reinforces TRSA’s own continuing commitment to trainer health and wellbeing in their home state of SA.
Lastly, we acknowledge our major sponsor and exclusive national wagering partner, Tabcorp, who will enjoy co-naming race rights using the ‘SKY’ brand.
With horses and strappers to don our distinctive blue and orange Trust emblazoned saddlecloths and tunics, we urge all Trainers to join with us and loudly celebrate this event as the horses leave the barriers at 2.33pm this Saturday.
Kind Regards
Andrew Nicholl
Chief Executive Officer
