The Australian Trainers’ Association (ATA) recently mailed to all Members advice that Fair Work Australia has advised that a decision issued by the Minimum Wage Panel recently granted all employees (e.g. stablehands) a pay rise effective 1 July 2013.
Included in the mailer referred to above, ATA Members were provided a copy of the New Wage Rates and Allowances that apply from the first full pay period on or after the 1st July 2013.

We remind Members’ that from 1 January 2010 an employees maximum ordinary time hours of work is 38 hours per week. Furthermore, also from 1 January 2010, it is a legal requirement for Employers to supply Employees with The Fair Work Information Statement as soon as possible after the commencement of employment. The statement provides basic information on matters that will affect their employment and is available to download from the ATA Website.

SUPERANNUATION INCREASES TO 9.25%
ATA Members are advised that Superannuation will increase to 9.25% from 1 July 2013.

TAX TABLES
For the 2013-14 income year there are no changes to the income tax rates or thresholds. You can continue to use most tax tables. However, there have been changes to some tax tables with more information and downloads available at www.ato.gov.au/taxtables
The ATA recommends that Members review their payroll systems and records, in particular to check compliance with pay advice requirements, wage rates, hours of work, superannuation and workcover.
