Trainers are advised that a Financial Assistance Package has been established by State and Federal Government authorities for those affected by the recent Victorian bushfires.
This includes a government payment to help fire-affected households cover their immediate emergency relief needs - including accommodation.
Trainers affected are encouraged to contact their local council, call the Victorian Emergency Recovery Information Line on 1300 799 232 or visit the Financial Assistance Available page at www.recovery.vic.gov.au
Trainers seeking assistance with thoroughbreds impacted by the fires can contact Racing Victoria’s Equine Welfare Officer, Cara Kavanagh, on (03) 9258 4285, for information and assistance.
This advice follows discussions initiated by the ATA with Racing Victoria in relation to Financial Assistance and Equine Welfare support for Trainers affected by the Victorian bushfires. Racing Victoria have also advised that they will be contacting Trainers in relation to this assistance package.
