IMPORTANT NOTICE – Stomach Tubing & Race Day Administration of Alkalinizing Agents / Victoria / 16 Jan, 2013

Members are advised that changes in Victoria in relation to stomach-tubing treatment or giving alkalinizing agents to a horse before it races will come into effect from March 1, 2013.

Under existing rules trainers must not treat horses on raceday, however under the new amended Local Rules of Racing (LR 29AA and LR 29AC), a horse cannot be stomach-tubed or be given alkalinizing agents at any time one clear day before it races.
