With your licence renewal you were informed by Racing NSW that they will be acting as agent for the New South Wales Trainers Association Limited (NSWTA Limited) in the collection of Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance premiums for the year commencing 1 August 2009. No details of cost or cover of the Policy being offered by NSWTA Limited have been provided.
The NSWTA Limited HAS NO AFFILIATION TO OR ASSOCIATION WITH the Australian Trainers Association (ATA).
You ARE INSURED until August 1st 2009 by the ATA National Public Liability & Professional Indemnity Insurance Policy, that has provided cover for 98% of trainers in ALL States of Australia including NSW & ACT for more than 10 years, and in some States for more than 23 years.
The Australian Trainers' Association believes it is not in NSW Trainers best interest to exit a National program that has been successful and professionally run by the ATA for many years.
NSW & ACT trainers are being asked to decide whether you will:
Appoint NSWTA Limited to act on your behalf which will mean you will be obliged to take the NSWTA Limited Policy, of which at this stage, you have NO details.
Make your own insurance arrangements which will then allow you to stay with the ATA Policy by paying a one off annual premium.
THE AUSTRALIAN TRAINERS’ ASSOCIATION RECOMMENDS YOU TICK THE BOX:
I WILL MAKE MY OWN INSURANCE ARRANGEMENTS
The Australian Trainers' Association will send you an individual offer of renewal of your current Insurance Policy well before the start of the new racing season. The premium will be similar to the current year and the scope of cover will be enhanced.
Full details of your current ATA National Policy can be viewed on the ATA website under Insurance
Further details can be obtained by contacting Mike Kirby, ATA’s Insurance and Risk Manager on (03) 9372-1688.
