INDUSTRIAL UPDATE – NEW WAGE RATES Effective 1 July 2017 / National / 27 Jun, 2017

The Fair Work Commission has advised of the decision issued by the Expert Panel in the Annual Wage Review 2016/17 resulting in an increase to the minimum wage effective 1 JULY 2017.

ALLOWANCES FOR EMPLOYEES

Allowances for employees are provided for under clause 14 of the Horse & Greyhound Training Award 2010 (HGTA). These include allowances relating to racecourse attendance, meals, boots, caps and vests.

RACE MEETING ATTENDANCE FEES & TRAINING FEES FOR TRAINERS

The ATA has updated the ATA Recommended Race Meeting Attendance Fees and Training Fees.

THE FAIR WORK INFORMATION STATEMENT

Members are reminded of the legal requirement for Employers to supply Employees with The Fair Work Information Statement as soon as possible after the commencement of employment. The statement provides basic information on matters that will affect their employment and is available by CLICKING HERE

SUPERANNUATION REMAINS AT 9.5%

ATA Members are advised that Superannuation (SGL) will remain at 9.5% from 1 July 2017.

Information relating to Tax Tables for the 2017/18 income year are available at Australian Taxation Office
