The Directors of the Australian Racing Board have elected the Hon Michael Duffy as the national body’s Chairman.
Duffy is currently chairman of Racing Victoria and has been a director of the Australian Racing Board since 2007.
He was previously a member of the Federal House Of Representatives from 1980-1996, as well as Minister For Communications 1983-1987, Minister For Trade Negotiations 1987-1990 & Attorney-General 1990-1993.
The Board’s spokesman, Andrew Harding, noted Mr Duffy’s wealth of experience and achievement in Government, law and racing administration.
“Mr Duffy’s election as ARB Chairman is a highly significant development for racing nationally. His many achievements in public life, his deep understanding of Government, his distinguished background in the law and his close affinity with racing are all things which will stand the ARB in great stead,” Harding said.
