The Australian Trainers’ Association (ATA) SA Branch recently requested that Thoroughbred Racing SA Limited give consideration to the procedure of jockeys mounting at race meetings at Morphettville racecourse be changed to fall into line with the practices interstate, ie that horses keep walking in order with riders to mount as their horse passes.
TRSA has advised that the initiative has been discussed by the Stewards’ Panel and that the Panel would be prepared to implement the procedure on the basis that Members are aware of, understand and support the practice and that staff are educated accordingly.
