The ATA has continued to highlight and raise the on-going important issue of serious shortages of track riders and stable staff in the Australian racing industry.
Victorian Racing Minister Denis Napthine has acted on representations from the ATA and has galvanized the support of all State Racing Ministers to unanimously seek the support of the Federal Government to make the necessary changes to the immigration entry visa system and procedures.
The aim is to accelerate applications for foreign workers seeking employment in these employment categories and to simplify the processes for trainers to recruit track riders and stable staff.
