Cranbourne racecourse is the venue for the inaugural Victorian Industry Associations Race Day at their night meeting on Friday 24 November 2017.
A concept developed by the Australian Trainers’ Association (ATA), this night event will promote the following Victorian participant representative Associations:
- Australian Jumping Racing Association
- Australian Trainers’ Association
- Thoroughbred Breeders Victoria
- Thoroughbred Racehorse Owners Association
- Victorian Bookmakers’ Association
- Victorian Jockeys Association
Racing.com will briefly interview an Executive from each Association between races, using their free-to-air platform. This will allow each to promote their Association and highlight the hard work they perform on behalf of their member base.
With regard to the race card, each Association will have a race named in its honour. In addition, each has the opportunity to design an incentive (goods/services/financial bonus) for the winning owner(s) and/or trainer(s), which will be over and above the prize money allocated for the event.
A SuperVOBIS Maiden over 1,400mtrs is included on the eight-race program, a race that will also carry a VOBIS Gold bonus. Accordingly, this maiden race will carry prize money and VOBIS bonuses totalling a staggering $59,000!
In addition, the night will feature the $50,000 TAB Victorian Racing Industry Associations Cup, a BM70 race over 2,025mtrs.
Strappers will also be recognised for their hard work and commitment to the thoroughbred under their care, with a “best turned out” $100 TAB voucher to be awarded in the mounting year prior to each race.
Lastly, we are pleased that Racing Victoria and TABCORP have provided strong support (both financial & promotional) for this event, together with Country Racing Victoria and the Cranbourne Turf Club.
