Racing NSW has announced the continuance of Saturday metropolitan race meetings accepting on Wednesday mornings for a further six months.
A recent trial which saw acceptances brought forward from 9am Thursday, to 9am Wednesday for all NSW metropolitan race meetings, has proved a resounding success.
Racing NSW compiled a comprehensive study of the outcomes of the trial, with the initiative supported by Australian Turf Club and NSW Trainers.
The report was reviewed by RICG (Racing Industry Consultancy Group) and they have agreed to support the Racing NSW initiative further.
Keith Bulloch, Racing NSW’s Acting Chief Executive, said: “The results of the trial to date have been very positive.
“With media support, fields are being published sooner and stories around the Saturday meetings are generated earlier.
The times for Saturday metropolitan race meetings continue as follows until the next review on 30 November 2011:
Acceptances: 9am Wednesday
Gear changes: 12noon Wednesday
Jockey declaration: 12noon Wednesday
